NU Pep Squad reclaims UAAP Cheerdance Competition crown

#ComeBark is real.

The National University Pep Squad are champions once again, after reclaiming the UAAP Cheerdance Competition title last Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The champions rose back from the dead and wowed the crowd with their jaw-dropping tosses, stunts and pyramids and smooth dance routines that garnered them a total of 711 points, far from the 655.5 points collected by runner-up FEU Pep Squad. The former four-peat champions showcased a dead-themed performance sporting floral dresses and hats with white and black skull makeup. With their synchronized moves and flawless tumbles, the NU Pep Squad had no error deductions in the final tally giving them enough edge against their competitors.

According to NU Pep Squad Coach Ghicka Bernabe, they did not let their last year’s loss to frustrate them, rather they channeled their strength from determination and eagerness to reclaim the throne.

“Sabi nga nila yung performance namin, gutom na gutom, uhaw na uhaw, gustong bumawi. Ayaw na naming maramdaman ‘yung naramdaman namin last year, nandito na kami ulit ngayon, we will do better and better and better.” Bernabe shared.

Aside from the championship title, the NU Pep Squad also topped the Group Stunts category in the 2018 UAAP CDC.
