Dr. Jessie S. Barrot, Assistant Vice President for Research and Development at National University, was included in the 2023 list of the World’s Top 2% Most Influential Researchers. Dr. Barrot is also one of the 10 highest ranked across disciplines and rank 1 in both education and linguistics categories among Philippine-based researchers.

The ranking includes around 200,000 researchers across the globe. There are only 50 Philippine-affiliated researchers on this year’s list, with 32 coming from higher education institutions (HEIs) and National University is among the 11 Philippine HEIs represented in the list. The rankings are based on composite citation metrics developed by a team of statisticians from Stanford University in partnership with Elsevier.
