NU celebrates its 123rd Founding Anniversary

National University Philippines commemorated its 123 years of providing quality education last Tuesday, August 1, at the NU Manila Multipurpose Hall.
A Eucharistic mass was held at the Holy Family of Nazareth Chapel (NUNS chapel) followed by the Wreath Laying Ceremony. Afterwards, the employees who rendered five to 30 years of work in the institution were recognized in the Service Awards.
With its theme on Dynamic Filipinism, National U aims to continuously promote the principles of nationalism by embracing diversity in race, culture and belief in reshaping and redefining the Institution’s quality of education.
NU President/CEO, Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita Jr recalled NU’s mark on Philippine Education as it produced noteworthy alumni throughout the 21st Century. “With its long history of successes and commitment to education, we realized that National U has and remains to be relevant in its role in nation-building.”
The event was graced by the members of the board led by Vice Chairman, Mr. Teddy Ocampo, Director Susan Dimacali, members of the Jhocson Family, NU High School Alumni Association, NU Management led by President/CEO Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita, Jr. and other key officials.
Vice Chairman, Mr. Teddy Ocampo reminded the community to rededicate themselves to the values that have defined the university as he inspired them to be a beacon of light for the future generations. “On this 123rd Founding Anniversary, let us not only look back with gratitude, but also move forward with hope and enthusiasm, forging ahead with determination to keying an even brighter future for our university and the world at large.”
