National University inks partnership with MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc.
The National University and MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc. sealed its partnership through the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held last May 31, at the MFI Polytechnic Institute Ortigas.
The MOA signing was graced by NU president Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., EVP Rosauro Manuel and other university officials, while MFI Polytechnic Inc. was represented by their Vice President/COO Mr. Noel Dumaguit and Mr. Winston R. Mendoza, Director for Technical Education & Training.
Dr. Ermita mentioned that one of the commitments that NU has is that the Senior High School graduates of MFI will automatically be absorbed into the programs of NU. He further added that “MFI’s expertise in the techvoc field and their outstanding relationship with the industry is something that they are stronger at, and we feel that MFI is our nick to the techvoc world.” He also expressed NU’s total support and willingness to explore other opportunities with MFI. “It is really a win-win partnership.”
Meanwhile, MFI’s Vice President/COO stressed that the industry’s demand has levelled up, which makes it difficult for MFI to evolve as much. “We cannot respond to the emerging technologies, in short, because you have your engineering team, we can develop and customize higher end programs for the industry.” Mr. Dumaguit is hopeful of all the possibilities for this partnership, “There are so many possibilities, as we go on with this partnership.”
