National U unveils new logo, launches first Heritage Book

National University marked another milestone after launching the university’s new logo and its very first Heritage Book last Tuesday, October 17 at the newly constructed NU Annex Building.

Chairman of the board Hans Sy and NU President Teddy Ocampo led the launching that was well-attended by NU officials, industry partners, alumni,  Jhocson family and friends.

The new brand features the school’s colors and a shield which was inspired from the old university logo. The conceptualization and approval of it took around four months and the university commissioned Interbrand to review the NU logo.

On the other hand, the Heritage Book, which is through the efforts of some NU stakeholders headed by Dr. Estrellita Gruenberg, compiled the university’s highlights from its establishment in 1900 to present.

In his speech, President Teddy Ocampo extended his gratitude to all the stakeholders for taking part in the event and for their contribution in marking the milestone for the university. He emphasized the role of NU founder Don Mariano F. Jhocson and SM patriarch Henry Sy, Sr. in the progress of the institution. “Equally meaningful are two outstanding gentlemen worthy of our accolade. They are two visionaries who knew the importance of education in building lives and building nations. We are truly fortunate that they are our guiding light in this endeavour.” Pres. Ocampo said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board Hans Sy in his inspirational message gave a glimpse of the big things to come for National U. “We are already on our 9th year with National University and after painstakingly studying all the aspects of education; we are on the verge of a very ambitious expansion plan.  The name “National” that is attached to this school is quite significant for us and we intend to make it synonymous to “nationwide”.  The synergy between the school and the mall, between NU and the SM has never been clearer as this is where education meets accessibility.” Sy revealed.
