National U holds Open Career Fair Program

The NU Academe Industry Linkages and Placement Office (AILPO) held an Open Career Fair program as part of the World of Work Series: The Pre-deployment Kit last June 7 at the NU Manila Activity Hall.

The career fair was tailored for the incoming interns and year-end graduating Nationalians to help them prepare for employment by seeing themselves fit in the field of work prepared by the partnered institutions.

“The career fair gave us a chance to interact face-to-face with the companies. It made it easier to ask questions or inquire kasi masasagot agad nila;” shared by an incoming marketing intern.

She also mentioned that the program was helpful and gave them the chance to widen their network by engaging with some company representatives.

Meanwhile, the event was catered by twenty different companies from different fields, giving more options for the students to explore.

“We have a lot of openings. Well, majority of which, accounting. If may mga candidates na ang field is accounting or related to business, welcome sila mag-apply,” said Johnson & Johnson’s recruitment representative and Senior Talent Acquisition Partner, Mark Jacobe.

He also mentioned that the general benefits in joining their company include HMO for employees and their dependents, retirement plans for regular employees, health and wellness perks, and other benefits to offer.

The SM Engineering Design and Development are also opening their doors for engineering interns, believing in their new talents and eagerness to learn and enhance their skills in the field. The company is also giving allowances and necessary trainings for their interns.

Other companies affiliated to SM, including the SM Retail and SM Supermalls. BDO, Alfamart, Unilever, Jollibee, Bounty Fresh, Army Navy, Maxima, Watsons, were also present during the career fair.

The World of Work Series kicked off last May 23, with its first phase by addressing career preparations, a workshop on setting professional accounts, career tips, resume writing and interview training.
