Silver Medal Win! Women’s Basketball Earns 1st Runner-up in UAAP Finals

National University concluded the UAAP Season 86 Women’s Basketball with a silver finish, December 6 at the SMART
Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The Lady Bulldogs displayed grit all throughout the season, closing the eliminations with a dominant 13-1 record, and a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinals.
As Season 86 ended, Lady Bulldogs Head Coach Aris Dimaunahan emphasized his commitment to bring back the dominance & glory to Jhocson despite the definite departure of key player Stefanie Berberabe.
Moreover, Coach Aris acknowledged the effort and commitment of the girls from day one until the final game buzzer. Regardless of the outcome, team captain Clarin encourages the Lady Bulldogs to be proud of themselves for rising to the challenge, making a history by winning 108 consecutive games and keeping a seven-peat streak.
“Today, we’re on the learning stage, probably we’ll use that as a motivation and a springboard moving forward to the next season,” said Coach Aris. “What would define us is what we do after this one. We’ll make the adjustments that we need for them to be better players, and for them to be better persons, more importantly,” he concluded.
