Seminar-Workshop on Professional Education and Teaching Competencies (LET Review)

Rationale and Objectives:

Republic Act 7836 or the Philippine Teachers Professionalization Act prescribes a Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) “to ensure and promote quality education and professionalization of the practice of the teaching profession”.  To better prepare the graduates of the National University for the LET, it is highly recommended that an intensive seminar-workshop on professional education and teaching competencies be conducted.

The objectives of the seminar-workshop are:

  1. Familiarize the NU graduates’ and graduates of other HEIs with the specific content of professional education courses for teachers;
  2. Enhance the NU graduates’ and graduates of other HEIs competence and knowledge in their field;
  3. Heighten the NU graduates’ confidence in the practice of their profession.

Description:

The Seminar-Workshop on Professional Education and Teaching Competencies is an intensive 17 day activity (from 8:00am to 12nn and 1:00pm to 5:00pm) that will run from June 7 to September 19, 2015. It covers all professional education subjects as well as general education subjects including English, Science, Mathematics and Filipino. In addition, a two-day intensive seminar-workshop in English will be provided to graduates of BSE-English.
