National U keeps pace in UAAP Volleyball

The NU Volleyball Teams secured both divisions’ back-to-back victories after taming the Falcons yesterday, February 28 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Following the four-set win, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21, 25-18, the Bulldogs are now in a three-way tie with UST and DLSU at second spot.
Veteran Nico Almendras led the scoreboard with 22 attack points and 1 block while Rookie Jade Disquitado had a 19-point conversion from spikes courtesy of best player, captain Owa Retamar who put up 31 excellent sets.
Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs also managed to share the number two spot with FEU and DLSU after a straight set win against the same team opponent, 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
Setter Camilla Lamina stood out after orchestrating their play, bringing out double-digit spiking outputs from Belen (15), Solomon (14) and Alinsug (10).
Returning NU head coach Norman Miguel looks forward to keeping the team’s good condition and mindset for their upcoming games.
The Bulldogs aim to keep the streak at the expense of UP on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. back in the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
