National University Honors Don Mariano Jhocson on His Birthday
October 14, we celebrate the life and legacy of Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson, the founder of Colegio Filipino and is now known to be National University and a visionary whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our community. As we honor him on his birthday, we reflect on the values he embodied and his efforts in promoting education. Through his leadership, he championed initiatives that uplifted the less fortunate.
“He had a mission and vision to help educate the less fortunate ones; that’s why he established the National University. And with the partnership with SM, Mr. Henry Sy also has the same mission and vision to help educate the less fortunate ones because they both believe that through education, they can uplift the lives of those in poverty.” – Mr. Nilo Ocampo, NU Vice President for Administrative Services and grandson of Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson.
Let us continue to uphold the values he held and ensure that his mission lives on. Happy Birthday, Don Mariano!
