National University collaborates with Arthaland Corporation

The NU College of Architecture and Arthaland Corporation sealed its Professional Green Building Training Program (PGBTP) partnership through the signing of the Statement of Collaboration held last July 10, 2023, at the NU Manila Camilo Osias Hall.

The event was graced by NU President/CEO Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita Jr., EVP Rosauro Manuel and College of Architecture Dean Chona Ponce, while Arthaland Corporation was represented by their Senior Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer Mr. Oliver Chan and Ar. Kristina Samantha Pobre, Sustainability expert and Head of the Sustainability Department.

PGBTP is a 6-week training program that aims to prepare future industry practitioners to the growing demand of eco-friendly solutions in real estate. This will allow the NU Architecture students to immerse themselves in cutting-edge green projects through the guidance of Arthaland’s sustainability experts.

“We were surprised that some schools are not yet interested when it comes to sustainability. We are happy that NU answered our call, that NU is ready to partner and start this”, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer Mr. Oliver Chan in Arthaland’s collaboration with National U.

He further added that sustainability is not just a trend but is something that will really last a lifetime and will definitely play a huge part in the industry. “The program is already a step forward as compared to anyone else, knowing that even other countries are already on it”, stressed by SVP Chan.

NU’s President/CEO Dr. Renato Carlos H. Ermita, Jr. thanked the Arthaland for the opportunity to partner with them to their efforts towards sustainability, “Here in National University we always encourage our campuses and colleges to push for specific advocacies, for Architecture it has always been sustainability. We are happy to work with an industry partner with the same objective”.

President Ermita also looks forward to the program getting more involvement not only from NU Manila but also from other NU campuses.
