iCORE 2024 Unveils Future Tech for a more sustainable NU
The National University’s College of Computing and Information Technologies organizes the 3rd International Conference on Information and Computing Research (iCORE) 2024 at NU MOA with the theme “Future Earth: Technology’s Role in Shaping Sustainable Outcomes.”.
The event featured a distinguished roster of speakers, including Simon See from NVIDIA, Dr. Vladimir Mariano of Fulbright University Vietnam, Julian Salazar from Google Research, Alibaba Cloud’s JV Roig, and Beatrix Palomar from SAS Institute. Their insights covered a range of topics, from high-performance computing and AI to generative AI and analytics, which showcased the vital role of technology in promoting sustainable development. iCORE 2024 highlighted four main research tracks: sustainability and social good, AI and machine learning, hypermedia, and emerging technologies.
With 107 submissions and 82 papers accepted, the conference maintained a high standard of quality, reflected in its impressive acceptance rate of 76.6%. Papers from countries including China, India, and Vietnam were reviewed by 61 international experts from across the globe. The prestigious iCORE 2024 Best Paper Award went to the paper titled “Design and Implementation of IoT-based Microclimate Monitoring System with Wireless Sensor Networks” by Darwin Mangca, Robert Bacarro, Vrian Jay Ylaya, James Paul Degamon, and Vincent Nicole Dihayco from Surigao del Norte State University, which promises to enhance agricultural practices through advanced wireless sensor networks.
