With its objective to support sustainable projects and collaboration, NU Fairview inks a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and partnership with Smart Communications, Inc.

On November 28, 2023, the ceremonial signing was held at NU Fairview, attended by Ms.Jacqueline Bocalan (Vice President and Department Head, Smart Communications, Inc.), Ms. Maria Andrea Hipolito (Senior Manager), and Mr. Roland Garcia (Manager for Customer Development Strategies & Support). NU Fairview was represented by Mr. Ricky Lawas (Executive Director), Ms. Ma. Donna B. Lalusin (Senior Academic Director), Mr. Jed Cantimbuhan (Director for Administrative Services Department) , Mr. Jhun Himoldang (Director for Academic Services Department), and Mr. Aazin Carl Sumalinog (NSTP/Community Extension Office Coordinator).

The project aims to promote Smart’s Electronic Waste Collection Drive through the collection, dismantling, extraction, segregation, recycling, and disposal of broken and discarded electronics.

Through this sustainable initiative, students, staff, and employees are encouraged to dispose their old, broken, or unused electronics with batteries and plugs. Smart’s E-Waste  bin is located near the Community Extension Office.

This event is a collaboration of the Academe-Industry Linkages & Placement Office (AILPO) and the Community Extension Office (ComEx).
