NU Baliwag Garners Top Honors at A+D Architectural Documentary Festival: Mayor Ferdinand V. Estrella Applauds Youth Achievement
Baliwag City, Bulacan—January 16, 2024, marked a momentous occasion for NU Baliwag as Mayor Hon. Ferdinand V. Estrella graciously welcomed the accomplished individuals who brought honor to the National University Baliwag during a Courtesy Call at his office.
The highlight of the event was the screening of the award-winning documentary, “Kanlungan ng Doble Zeta,” which clinched First Place in the prestigious A+D Architectural Documentary Festival 2023. Mayor Estrella, impressed by the remarkable achievement, joined the triumphant Nationalians—Jonah Nicole Cortez, Ralph Godwin Villanueva, and Jillianne Canaway—in acknowledging their outstanding contribution to the field of architecture.
Accompanying the winning team were key figures from NU Baliwag, including Arch. Melanio Martinez Jr., their class adviser, Arch. Joana Marie Asuro, the program chairman of the Architecture Department, and Engr. Jenalyn Columna, the esteemed Dean of the School of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology. Their collective presence highlighted the NU Baliwags’s commitment to nurturing talent and excellence.
The A+D Architectural Documentary Festival 2023, organized by the UAP Commission on Sentro ng Arkitekturang Filipino, served as a pivotal moment during the National Architecture Week celebration at Gestdan Centrum, Baguio City, on December 7, 2023. NU Baliwag’s victory not only resonates within the walls of the institution but also showcases its dedication to producing outstanding individuals in the field of architecture.
