The Visionary Behind the NU Museum
Ar. Joel Rico, a graduate of National University Manila’s BS Architecture program in 1993, is a renowned architect, historian, and planner known for his dedication to preserving the Philippine heritage. With a deep passion for restoration, he led the revival of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan, overseeing the meticulous rehabilitation of historical homes. His expertise extends to international projects, including participation in the 15th International Architecture Biennale in Venice.
ArAr. Rico’s contributions to cultural preservation are further highlighted through his work at the Philippine Architectural Gallery in the National Museum of the Philippines. His dedication to Philippine history and culture further radiates to his recent work — the NU Museum.
