On October 11, 2023, a special online event took place, encouraging youth to take action on climate change. The webinar, titled “Youth Leadership in Climate Action: Inspiring the Next Generation,” was organized by the National Service Training Program (NSTP) in collaboration with NUM-SBNU and Community Extension.
The urgency of climate change requires immediate action. Engaging them now in climate change discussions and solutions ensures they are equipped to make informed decisions for a sustainable future. Empowering the youth to take ownership of climate action instills a sense of agency and responsibility.
Mr. Deign Frolley Soriano, an advocate of teaching, environmental conservation, continuous learning, and youth leadership was the guest speaker. He spoke passionately about the importance of young people getting involved in the fight against climate change. His words left a deep impression on the 1,014 students who attended the webinar from via MSTeams and Facebook, motivating them to take action. He demonstrated the power of young voices in raising awareness and pushing collective actions for the country and environment.
This webinar’s success reveals that young people are increasingly concerned about climate change. It demonstrates that they are ready to step up and take a lead in solving environmental problems. This gives hope for a greener and more sustainable future.
The “Youth Leadership in Climate Action” webinar was a success, inspiring over a thousand students to be proactive in fighting climate change.
