About Us
The Community Extension Office is responsible for the development and implementation of sustainable community projects, social responsibility, and long-term learning programs on behalf of National University.
Mission
Guided by the core values and characterized by our cultural heritage of Dynamic Filipinism, National University is committed to provide relevant, innovative, and accessible quality education and other development programs to its students, associates, faculty, alumni and other stakeholders to be pro-active in socio-economic-environmental problems both local and national through the Community Extension Office program and services addressing local and international concerns as well as contributing to global priorities.
Vision
The Community Extension Unit of National University will be the primary facilitator and provider of effective programs and projects to help empower communities and sectors in addressing socio-economic-environmental problems as well as promoting volunteerism by using dynamic, science-based educational resources.
Nagkakaisang Ugnayan Volunteerism Program
The Nagkakaisang Ugnayan Volunteerism Program is committed to making a positive impact on the community and to helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The program believes that volunteerism is a powerful tool for social change and that everyone has something to offer.
Usaping Seguridad at Kaligtasan (DRRM-Resiliency)
The program will equip volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to respond to and recover from natural disasters. This could involve training volunteers on first aid, search and rescue, and disaster preparedness. Volunteers could also be deployed to help with disaster relief efforts, such as clearing debris, distributing food and water, and providing emotional support to survivors.
Gintong Kaalaman at Kabuhayan (Educational Enhancement and Economic Prosperity)
The program will provide volunteers with opportunities to support educational programs in the community. This could involve tutoring students, assisting teachers in the classroom, or leading extracurricular activities. Volunteers could also help to develop and implement educational materials and resources.
Natatanging Kultura at Pagkakapantay-pantay (Cultural Vitality and Social Equity)
The program will provide NU students with opportunities to fulfill their ASR requirements through volunteerism. The program will work with community partners to develop and implement volunteer projects that address these areas of need. The program will also provide volunteers with training and support to help them be successful in their volunteer roles.
Aksyon para sa Kalikasan (Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action)
The program will provide volunteers with opportunities to support programs that protect the environment. This could involve tree planting, coastal cleanups, or educating the public about environmental issues. Volunteers could also help to develop and implement sustainable practices in the community.
Yamang Pangkalusugan at Kapakanan (Community Health and Well-being)
The program will provide volunteers with opportunities to promote good health and well-being through medical missions, seminars, awareness campaigns, and information advocacies.
