US Embassy and COHREP Partner with NU for Hospitality Teaching Innovations
US Embassy and COHREP Partnered with NU for a two-day seminar workshop titled “Global Guests, Local Voices: Cross-Cultural Insights & Teaching Tools for Hospitality and Tourism,” which brought together hospitality and tourism educators and professionals for an enriching professional development experience.
The event aimed to enhance cross-cultural communication and equip participants with innovative teaching tools.
Led by Ms. Maureen Rooney from the US Embassy, the sessions explored key topics such as Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions, professional communication, and practical classroom strategies. The interactive format encouraged active participation and real-world application. Special guests and speakers, including Mr. Jeffrey McIlvenna and COHREP President Mr. Rodolfo Cabardo, added depth and international perspective to the discussions.
The event was made possible by the collective efforts of the US Embassy, COHREP, the NU College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and the dedicated students of HRM226 under Mr. Michael Angelo Cabangon.
