NU Laguna’s 2nd Year Bachelor of Multimedia Arts student, Hershey Balan, along with her Instructor, Ms. Ten Sandoval from the School of Arts and Sciences, won 2nd Place in the BioteKomiks: The Wonders of Pinoy Biotek Contest organized by the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), together with the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Biotech Program (DA Biotech)

This contest aims to capture artists’ perspectives on the impact of Pinoy Biotek on the country’s agriculture and fisheries through a four-panel comic strip. Using comic strips in science education is another way of making the topics interesting, relevant, and meaningful.
