Joined by SM administrators, staff, affiliates, and members of the NU Lipa community — including students and employees — the event served as a meaningful moment to honor the symbol of our nation’s freedom and unity. 🇵🇭

National Flag Day marks the anniversary of the first unfurling of the Philippine flag after the victory at the Battle of Alapan in Cavite on May 28, 1898. This moment in history signifies the beginning of the country’s fight for independence and the birth of our national identity. From May 28 to June 12, Filipinos are encouraged to display the national flag in homes, offices, schools, and public spaces as part of a nationwide celebration leading up to Independence Day.

By taking part in this annual observance, NU Lipa affirms its commitment to promoting patriotism, civic pride, and national awareness among its stakeholders. The sight of students and staff standing in unity to honor the flag reflects the institution’s core values of integrity, compassion, and love for country.
