NU Laguna’s Robotic Team Secures 1st Runner-Up at The 8th Metals and Engineering Skills Competition
The National University Laguna Robotics Team has proudly clinched the 1st Runner-Up position at the prestigious 8th Metals and Engineering Skills Competition held on June 17, 2025, at Far Eastern University Manila.
The event was organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC), and the Mechatronics and Robotics Society of the Philippines (MRSP). It showcased the top talents in engineering and robotics in the competition.
Recently, the DOST MIRDC has then announced the winners of the Robotics Category in the recently held 8th Metals and Engineering Skills Competition.
Taguig’s Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) was declared Champion, with National University of Laguna securing the 1st Runner-Up spot. Trimex College rounded out the top three as the 2nd Runner-Up.
Leading NU Laguna to this impressive finish were team members Jose Elmar Acuno, Kim Lennard Andaya, Simon Neil P. Humarang, and Lawrie Miguel P. Gonzales. The university also extends special thanks to Dr. Juliet Niega, coach of the NU Laguna Robotics Team, for their dedicated mentorship.
