The pre-inauguration Mass was held in the auditorium before the ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiling of marker. NU Dasmarinas is the fifth campus built in partnership with the SM Group and NU Chairman, Dr. Hans Sy.

Mayor Jennifer Austria-Barzaga promised local government support for the University.

In attendance are, Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita, President of NU, Dr. Freddie Bulauan, Chief Administrative Officer of CHED RO4A Calabarzon, Teodoro J. Ocampo, Chairman of NU, and Jose Nilo J, Ocampo, VP for Administration of National University.

One notable attendee was Mr. Nestor Sapida, one of the NU Bulldog Basketball Champions back in 1954.
