NU Baliwag STHM Students Win 2nd Place in “Pamatid-Uhaw” Heritage Beverage Competition

NU Baliwag proudly celebrates another achievement as students from the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM) made their mark in the Heritage Beverage Concoction Competition titled “Pamatid-Uhaw Bulacan Beverage Competition 2025.” The event was held on April 29, 2025, at Hiyas ng Bulacan, Malolos City, and featured 14 participating colleges and universities across the province.

Luigi Sebastian Tenorio and Hannah Colline Guerrero, both 2nd Year BS in Hospitality and Restaurant Management (HRM) students, secured 2nd Place with their uniquely crafted drink made from lemongrass, pandan, calamansi, and blue ternate. Their refreshing concoction impressed a panel of food and beverage advocate judges, who praised the use of local, sustainable ingredients and creative presentation.

This milestone is a testament to NU Baliwag’s unwavering commitment to heritage preservation through innovative culinary and gastronomic training. More than just technical skills, STHM instills in its students the values of cultural appreciation, sustainability, and community-oriented service—empowering them to become responsible advocates of local flavors and traditions.

The win also reflects NU Baliwag STHM’s active pursuit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

NU Baliwag is proud of its STHM students for continuing to raise the bar in the field of hospitality and for bringing pride to the institution through their passion and excellence.
