Empowering Women with Hope and Kindness: NU Lipa Celebrates National Women’s Month at BJMP LIpa City
Spreading Hope and Kindness.
In celebration of 2025 National Women’s Month, the NU Lipa Community Extension Office, in collaboration with the Psychology Department and Guidance Services Office, organized an outreach program at BJMP Lipa City Jail on March 19, 2025.

The event was filled with laughter, encouragement, and heartfelt conversations, reminding the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) that they are valued and not forgotten. An engaging icebreaker set a joyful tone, followed by words of comfort and support from the Guidance Services Office.

To promote learning and personal growth, PDLs received books from the NU Lipa Learning Resource Center, along with food and canned goods from NU Lipa COMEX to support their daily needs.

This meaningful initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) by promoting Gender Equality (SDG 5) through empowering PDL women, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG16) by acknowledging their humanity and fostering partnership for the Goals (SDG17) by uniting NU Lipa, government agencies, and communities to support rehabilitation, justice, and reintegration efforts.

Through the generosity of different organizations and volunteers, PDLs were given not just gifts, but also hope, encouragement, and the reassurance that they are valued. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to rehabilitation, second chances, and a more inclusive society .
